Test your skill and luck by predicting the results of the 2014 NCAA Basketball Championships. The formula is simple:
make the best picks and win cash prizes!!  The more players, the bigger the payoff, and the more students educated!
  • First prize: 20% of entrance fees
  • Second prize: 10% of entrance fees
  • Third prize: 5% of entrance fees
In order to provide educational scholarships and youth leadership development in Nicaragua, we are asking for an entrance fee of just $20 per bracket.  Players can fill up to 5 brackets. All proceeds will be donated to Help Educate, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization promoting education and leadership development in Nicaragua.  See www.helpeducate.org for more information.  Your participation will go towards supporting our 20 current university scholarship recipients.

It’s easy to join!

After the tournament pool has been selected on Sunday, March 16th, you must visit the league’s site at http://y.ahoo.it/i5VvTkZ0 to set your brackets before 12pm EST on March 20th. The group will send you a reminder to fill out your brackets.

Fourth Annual Noche de Salsa

Noche de Salsa 2013
On Saturday, November 16, 2013, we hosted our 4th Annual Noche de Salsa event in Washington, DC at Meze. It was a night full of salsa dance lessons from Hugo, delicious mojitos, a silent auction and raffle prizes! In the end, we raised over $2,800, enough for five scholarships!

We also learned about a Help Educate love story (photo at left) - they met at the 2011 Noche de Salsa, and now they are engaged! Congrats to the happy couple, and thank you to all of our fantastic supporters who help Help Educate!

5th Annual March Madness Online Tournament

Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Help Educate March Madness tournament:
• Alex won first place and a prize of $173!
• Ben won second place, earning $86!
• Carmen took third place, receiving $43!

Alex has donated his prize back to Help Educate, so
we raised $736 from your generous contributions! As a result, we will be able to provide a one year academic scholarship for a Nicaraguan youth.

Thank you again for your support! And
don't forget to join us for Fantasy Football this fall!

- DC supporters joined the Help Educate Management Team and our founder John Kuehnle to unwind, mix and mingle during a happy hour at Stetson’s (1610 U St), With exciting raffle prizes like Nicaraguan rum and Nationals baseball tickets, we raised $275, which covers a little more than a semester at a Nicaraguan university!

3rd Annual Noche de Salsa

November 17, 2012, Washington, DC - Help Educate is thrilled to announce that 2012’s Noche de Salsa raised $2,152 from ticket sales, extra donations, raffles and the silent auction! Thanks to your generous contributions online and at the event, we are able to cover one year of college tuition for 4 students. A special thanks goes out to our salsa instructors Hugo, Mercedes and Jessie and our hosts at Meze for making the night such a success.

Zumba for Help Educate

October 5, 2012, San Francisco, CA - A group of Help Educate's oldest and newest supporters came out to dance to cheesy Latin music in order to raise money for deserving students on Friday evening at 66 Sanchez.  While everyone's experiences with Zumba varied, everyone was equally sweaty by the end of the hour - and most importantly everyone had a blast!  Between the donations of those who made it and those who could not join but donated anyway, we met our goal and raised more than enough to sponsor an entire semester of tuition.  Huge thank you for those of you that contributed - especially the awesome Jessa Freeman who taught the class!

2nd Annual Taste for a Cause

Wine Tasting 2012
September 22, 2012, Cutchogue, NY - Thanks to the generosity of McCall Wines, the 2012 "Taste for a Cause" event successfully raised over $2,000!  Participants savored a number of award winning McCall wines while listening to the acoustic melodies of the Sixteen String Band, catching up with old friends, making new friends, and touring the picturesque Cutchogue Estate.  Sommelier Brewster McCall led a discussion of each wine tasted and raffled off bottles for lucky attendees to enjoy at home.  All are looking forward to next year's event on the North Fork.

Thanks to all Help Educate supporters who came out to this fantastic event!
